Fix Sonicwall NetExtender RAS errors

Sonicwall NetExtender RAS errors can be annoying to fix when a simple reboot doesn’t work. If restarting Sonicwall services and/or rebooting the computer isn’t fixing these errors for you, then the process outlined below should get rid of the errors most of the time.

Uninstall the following devices from the device manager:

Then, rescan for hardware changes. It should reinstall them. Then test NetExtender, usually at this point it should work.

If the issue persists, there are additional steps you can take:

  • 1. Uninstall NetExtender then reboot
  • 2. Delete the C:\Program Files (x86)\SonicWall folder and its contents
  • 3. Open an elevated command prompt then run pnputil.exe -e > C:\drivers.txt
  • 4. Open that txt file and find all SonicWall drivers.
  • 5. Delete the drivers using the following command: pnputil.exe -d oem<NUMBER>.inf
  • 6. Reboot again
  • 7. Open Device Manager > Network adapters and uninstall all WAN Miniport adapters
  • 8. Re-scan for new hardware which should bring them all back.
  • 9. Reinstall NetExtender

If you get all the way through these steps and you’re still encountering NetExtender errors, it’s time to consider DISM/SFC/CHKDSK.
